Connections

We all have connections, to people, places, objects, ideas, and beliefs. These relationships help shape our lives and give meaning to our experiences.

P5 Gallery at Bolton Station is a fitting place to explore this theme. Every day, people arrive and depart, creating countless connections, whether close to home or further afield.

​

When we sat down earlier this year to plan the theme for this, our very first art exhibition, ‘Connections’ emerged quickly as the theme, building on the above as well as something that would allow us to use our personal connections to invite some very talented people to join us.

​

This year marks the 10th anniversary of our Instagram account, Married With Grown Ups, which began as a way to share our photography. It has been a catalyst in helping us connect with a diverse community of creatives, including fellow photographers, artists, and makers working across a wide range of media and disciplines. Many of them have contributed work for you to enjoy here today.

​

Among the contributors are family, friends, long-standing supporters, and people we have never met in person but with whom we have formed genuine friendships through our Instagram community. This exhibition is a celebration of all those connections and the ways they bring people together through creativity, shared experiences, and a love of art.
